Caitlin Clark has shared an opinion on Angel Reese’s taunts after initially claiming not to see them.

Reese has come under intense scrutiny and criticism due to her actions nearing the end of the NCAA women’s championship game between LSU and Iowa on Sunday.

The Tigers are the national champs after a 102-85 win over their final opponents and Reese made sure to rub it in as the game drew to a close, pointing to her ring finger and hitting Clarke with John Cena’s “You can’t see me” before celebrating the title win.

The Iowa star spoke to ESPN on Tuesday and addressed the incident, actually coming to Angel’s defense.

“I don’t think Angel should be criticized at all,” she offered. “No matter what way it goes, she should never be criticized for what she did. I compete, she competed.

“It was a super, super fun game. I think that’s what’s going to bring more people to our game.”

Speaking right after the game, Caitlin told reporters she didn’t notice the taunts as she was just looking to shake hands with everyone. She also noted that Reese was very complimentary toward her when they exchanged words in the wake of the contest.

The 22-year-old point guard has also just been named the NCAA’s National Player of the Year following an incredible season on a personal front.
