Basketball can bring you some extreme highs and although you might be one of the best to ever do it, it does not guarantee you a championship like Caitlin Clark found out in college.

South Carolina rained on Caitlin Clark’s parade, with the Iowa superstar failing to end her college career on a high with an NCAA championship win ahead of the WNBA Draft later this month, as the Gamecocks are crowned as this year’s national champs.

The 22-year-old Clark – NCAA’s all-time leading scorer for both men and women – made 10 of 28 shots which included 5 of 13 3-pointers and finished off her four-year career with 3,951 points. She also had five assists.

Clark played in the final game of her college basketball career but the moment was made special after her longtime boyfriend, Connor McCaffery, sent a heartfelt message on social media.

“My GOAT,” he wrote on his Instagram story that featured Caitlin Clark walking to the tunnel after the game.

Despite Sunday’s loss for the Hawkeyes, Clark’s run to a second straight NCAA Championship game further helped push women’s basketball into another stratosphere.

Just her being on the court set a new TV ratings record for women’s college basketball twice in the last week alone, with another record likely waiting once the numbers from Sunday come out.

Women’s college basketball is certainly going to miss her, but she now has bigger fish to fry in the next phase of her life.

Caitlin Clark Can Forever Change The State of The WNBA

Despite some of the older players in the WNBA seemingly taking shots or not fully supporting Caitlin Clark, she is that one person who could become the Stephen Curry or Michael Jordan of the women’s professional league and could forever change the direction of the WNBA.

If Clark turns out to be just as good if not better in the WNBA, everyone will reap the benefits of it.

HOT NEWS:

The UConn vs. Iowa NCAA Final Four game was overshadowed by a contentious offensive foul call favoring Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes.

Following a UConn timeout, Aaliyah Edwards positioned herself to set a pick on the wing for Paige Bueckers, aiming to create an opportunity for the game-winning jumper.

However, Edwards was called for a moving screen with just 3.9 seconds remaining. This turnover granted possession to the Hawkeyes, who maintained control until the final buzzer, resulting in a 71-69 loss for the Huskies.

“I wasn’t given an explanation,” Edwards said after the loss. “There was no real time to get an explanation. From my point of view, it was pretty clean.”

LeBron James reacts to Iowa-UConn ending

With Iowa up by one point and only a couple of seconds left, Aaliyah Edwards was called for an offensive foul for a moving screen. LeBron James and many others reacted in a stunned manner.

It was a questionable call that ended up deciding the outcome of the game.

Paige Bueckers had received the ball and had time to make a play. She may have ended up missing her shot, but we weren’t able to find out.

It’s a call that will be talked about for a while, particularly if Clark and Iowa end up beating South Carolina in the final game. It shouldn’t taint their legacy, but it would to some fans.

For Iowa, Clark’s remarkable season culminates in the final game, as she aims to conclude her record-breaking career with a national championship.

HOT NEWS:

That was just the tip of the iceberg for the Aggies.

Losing in the NCAA Tournament and being sent home is one thing, but three players on the squad being in trouble less than a week after is quite troubling.

According to a College Station Police arrest record, three Texas A&M women’s basketball players were taken into custody on Wednesday night after midnight after they were discovered intoxicated outside of an apartment building in College Station.

Calls were made about several individuals in a car outside the Holleman Crossing Apartments in College Station playing loud music and smoking marijuana. Officers approached the vehicle and immediately smelled marijuana.

The officer found Kayla Green, Kyndall Hunter, and Maliyah Johnson high as a kite in the vehicle.

KagsTV reported that Johnson and Hunter were charged with possession of marijuana in a quantity less than two ounces, which is a class misdemeanor while Green was charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2 in a quantity less than one gram and possession of marijuana in a quantity less than two ounces.

In the end, all three of the NCAA college players would be booked into the Brazos County Jail on Wednesday, and have since been released from jail on bond.

Johnson and Hunter’s bonds were $2,000, while Green’s bonds totaled $7,000.

The Texas A&M Aggies Fought Hard But Were Eliminated In The NCAA Tournament

The No. 8 seed Nebraska played against Texas A&M, the No. 9 seed, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Nebraska won its first NCAA Tournament game since 2014 by just barely holding off No. 11 Texas A&M 61-59 on Friday night.

The Huskers led by as many as 17 points and had to hold off a late comeback to pull off this victory. It was Texas A&M’s first trip to the NCAA tournament since 2021 when the team advanced to the Sweet 16 for the third straight season.
