In a highly charged pre-fight interview, British boxers Anthony Joshua and Daniel Dubois had to be separated after a heated face-off nearly escalated into a physical altercation.

The confrontation took place following the announcement on Wednesday that the two heavyweights will clash for the IBF heavyweight world title at Wembley Stadium on September 21.

Anthony Joshua Threatens Daniel Dubois In A Heated Confrontation

The British Heavyweights Had To Be Separated

Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, disclosed that the 34-year-old Joshua threatened to smash a chair during the intense exchange, which has since been released on video. The confrontation began with Joshua expressing his eagerness to fight, stating, “Honestly speaking from the bottom of my heart, aside from belts and aside from it being him, I’m just ready to fight.”

Dubois responded with equal fervor, saying, “Let’s go, let’s go. If he wants to swing, let’s go now.” Joshua retorted, “Shut up. Relax, relax.” Dubois persisted, asking, “Do you want to go now? Let’s go. Do you want to go now?” To which Joshua, still agitated, replied, “Relax… [you want] this f****** chair across your face? Don’t disrespect me.”

As the tension mounted, Dubois repeatedly declared, “You can’t intimidate me,” while Joshua insisted, “Don’t disrespect me.” The exchange grew more heated, with Dubois challenging, “Who do you think you are?” and Joshua responding, “Daniel, don’t disrespect me.”

The situation reached a boiling point when Joshua stood up from the table, prompting Dubois and his promoter Frank Warren to do the same before security intervened. “Don’t disrespect me on my life, little boy,” Joshua warned as Dubois was restrained. Joshua added, “I don’t take disrespect lightly, you know? Don’t sit at the table telling me we can go now and do all of this and that. Try and call me out.”

As the confrontation de-escalated, Warren called for a halt to the filming, but Joshua continued to stare at Dubois. With so much at stake in this fight, it is no surprise that both fighters displayed their fiery tempers.

Anthony Joshua did not mince words about Deontay Wilder’s brutal knockout loss.

Anthony Joshua Is The Favorite To Win

Dubois enters the fight as the IBF heavyweight world champion, a title he acquired after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt following his victory over Tyson Fury. Joshua, on the other hand, is aiming to reclaim the heavyweight title for the third time.

The fight is scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2024, and will take place at Wembley Stadium in London. The betting odds are currently favoring Joshua, with odds of -450 to win, while Dubois is listed at +300. A draw is considered unlikely, with odds of +1600.
